    VSN - Notary Services restrictions

VSN is NOT a law firm

VSN DOES NOT employ lawyers and DO NOT practice law. Therefore, VSN is NOT able to provide any type of legal advise. It is the clients responsibility to know which forms match your situation. I, as the notary, am NOT able to advise the client in these matters.

    Copy restrictions

Notaries are held to very specific guidelines and rules as to what we are and are NOT able to certify as a copy. Below are some examples of what we are NOT able to certify per the Georgia Superior Court Clerks' Cooperative Authority (Georgia Notary Handbook)

    • Powers of Attorney
    • Photographs
    • Military discharges
    • Deed, mortgages, and other instruments dealing with real estate
    • Birth certificates
    • Death certificates
    • Marriage records
    • Divorce records
    • Probated wills
    • Students records or transcripts from public schools, colleges, or universities
    • Foreign passports
    • Certificates of naturalization, citizenship, or permanent resident
    • Any document marked "filed" or "recorded"
